Bonds
A bond is a mutual, signed record between two chip identities. Both chips consented. Both chips signed. The depth achieved is whatever threshold both parties chose to cross during the hold.
Either party can break a bond at any time with a solo chip tap. No ceremony. No explanation required. The break is recorded on-chain. Active permissions are revoked. The relational trace is preserved. The encounter happened, and the record of it remains.
You can leave a relationship unilaterally. You cannot enter one without the other person present.
Guilds
A guild is what three or more bonds become when they are named. It is the digital trace of a collective having existed together: the working group, the assembly, the project circle. It outlives the event that formed it.
You cannot join a guild without already being bonded with someone inside it. The trust gate is the bond. The guild is the memory of those bonds having accumulated into something larger.
When the last member leaves, the guild dissolves. The record of it having existed remains on-chain.
